MIS-C (Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children) is a novel but rare and severe clinical syndrome in children and has been shown to be related to SARS-CoV-2 infection. Human genetic factors associated with the immune system has been proposed as a possible cause. In this study we investigate this hypothesis using whole genome sequencing and bioinformatic analysis.

Density Functional Theory calculations showed that tris(bipyridine)nickel(II) complexes have an octahedral geometry with two unpaired electrons. The tris(bipyridine)nickel(III) complexes have Jahn- Teller distortion due to the one unpaired electron eg orbital set. Calculated results agree with experimental observation.

My research focuses on the band structure of 4-D transition max phases. A tool that I have used is AiiDA and the Quantum Espresso code. AiiDA is a proficient environment for creating and running these workflows as well as consistently inspecting the outcomes. It is simple to perform systematic materials simulations over the relevant parameters once a workflow has been written, which is crucial to produce data that will hold up in posterior analysis. Without using AiiDA, achieving this is fairly challenging.
